Donate your time - become a volunteer!

Mainstay DRP continuously fundraises in order to maintain the high quality of care and support they offer to people with severe Autism or a learning disability, their families and carers.

Fundraising within the community is carried out in various ways such as sporting and music events, bag packing at local supermarkets or flag days.

The charity is always looking for new volunteers to help make a real difference. Through volunteering, you can learn new skills while having fun meeting new people and making friends.

Watch yourself develop confidence as an individual while gaining valuable work experience and receiving training – and all for a worthy cause.

Mainstay DRP want bright sparks with creative ideas to get in touch!

Here are just some of the many ways our volunteer fundraisers have helped us in the past.

THE WALKER

Mary Kelly, a mother of three and grandmother of one, gave up her time for Mainstay DRP when she walked from the townland of Liatroim to Downpatrick in September, 2010.
Her daughter Fiona, who has a learning disability, is very happy attending the charity’s day care services. The walk was Mary’s way of saying ‘Thank You’ to Mainstay DRP for providing the facilities.

THE CYCLIST
Drew Wylie, who is married with two sons and twin grandsons, decided to take part in the Mizen to Malin Head Elite Cycle Challenge in July 2011 after being dared by the event’s co-organiser Fintan McGrady. Not only did he complete the 455 mile challenge, but he’s raised over £8,000 so far.

THE SKYDIVER, BAG PACKER AND STREET COLLECTOR

Colleen O' Hanlon is a 19-year-old student from Downpatrick. Last year, she raised hundreds of pounds for Mainstay DRP when she took part in a charity sky-dive. In her spare time, she also volunteers at their sponsored bag packs and street collections.
