How long have been long distance cycling for? : 2-3 months

Have you ever taken part in a challenge like this before? :    In 2005, I sailed the Lord Rank yacht with the Ocean Youth Trust from Bangor down the Irish sea along the English channel to the Isle of Wight. There, we raced around the island in the ASTO 2005 small/tall ships race. I found the challenge extremely rewarding. We won our category and were presented with medals by Richard Branson’s mother!! 

How did you find training for the event? :    I trained locally around the Mournes and found it very enjoyable. Good way to take in local scenery. I recently completed the Co-operation Ireland mara-cycle from Belfast to Dublin and back as part of my training.  

What are you looking forward to most about the Elite Challenge? :    Can’t wait to take in all the views along the west coast, to meet new people and to complete the cycle for Mainstay DRP and for all the people who sponsored me.
